We hope that you have found at least some of the content in this resource
of value. As mentioned in the section titled, How To Use This Resource,
you may find parts of this resource very useful, while other parts hold
little relevance to you. This is because everyone has different experiences
as a family member or friend of a missing person. You may also find that
you continually revisit the resource depending on where you are in your
personal journey and how you are navigating the path in front of you.
Although this resource has come to an end, this by no means reflects the
on-going support available to you. The following chapter provides a strong
springboard to enable you to locate the support that best suits your needs.
As mentioned in the introductory chapter, if there is but one message
that this resource hopes to convey it is this:
Despite the emotional turmoil and heartache associated with the disappearance
of a loved one, you can survive – whatever the outcome.
There are ways of coping effectively with the changes that have happened
in your life. Admittedly, the journey before you is not easy, nor is it
quick – for even if your loved one is found alive and well within
a short timeframe there may be continual concerns about future disappearances.
However, the journey before you is one that many have travelled before
you, and with support and guidance, their path has become more manageable.
